Fun with Fluids!

  • Eloise Covert Smith Theater 940 2nd St Portsmouth, OH, 45662 United States (map)

Jason Conaway

There's something inherently compelling about sloshing, splashing, and oozing. For that reason, Exultant Games is crafting a game where fluid mechanics is a key part of the game's design. In this talk, Jason Conaway, CTO of Exultant Games, will explain and demonstrate how fluids are simulated and rendered in realtime within a 3D virtual environment. These simulations are inherently mathematical, so expect to learn the fundamentals of vector calculus and the Navier–Stokes equations. Also learn how fluids can be rendered in 3D using ray-marching and metaballs.
